Museum History
Located in the historic town of Earle, Arkansas, the Crittenden County Museum invites you to step back in time and explore the rich history of the region.
The museum is housed in a beautifully restored train station that first opened in 1922 as part of the Missouri Pacific Railroad. For decades, it served as a busy hub where passengers traveled and goods were shipped. Although the station closed in 1969, its story didn’t end there.
In 1987, the depot was given new life when it reopened as the Crittenden County Museum. Since then, it has preserved and shared the unique history of Crittenden County through fascinating exhibits and local artifacts.
Inside, you’ll discover displays on farming, early schools, local medicine, and traditional crafts like broom-making. The museum also features artwork by Carroll Cloar, a celebrated artist and Earle native whose work reflects the culture of the Arkansas Delta.
Whether you're a history lover, a curious traveler, or a local resident, the Crittenden County Museum is a great place to learn, explore, and connect with the past.
